The weather is cooling down, awards season is heating up, and The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center has everyone covered!
The Sewickley nonprofit theater is gearing up for a big month full of highly anticipated Hollywood titles. That’s in addition to special events like the premiere of locally made fantasy saga Maxx: Son of the Damned on Nov. 6 and six Three Rivers Film Festival screenings from Nov. 13-16.
Here’s what’s playing at The Lindsay in November:
• Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere: (Oct. 24-TBD): Jeremy Allen White is generating serious Oscars buzz for his portrayal of a young Bruce Springsteen’s efforts to harness the creative spark that would eventually produce The Boss’ seminal 1982 album Nebraska.
• Blue Moon: (Oct. 31-Nov. 6): Director Richard Linklater and star Ethan Hawke collaborate for the ninth time on this biopic of famed Broadway lyricist Lorenz Hart. The film is set during the opening night of Oklahoma!, as Hart holds court with a variety of characters at a nearby bar.
• Nuremberg (Nov. 7-TBD): A psychiatrist is tasked with determining which Nazi leaders are fit to stand trial for their crimes. This historical drama boasts an all-star cast that includes Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, John Slattery, Colin Hanks and Richard E. Grant.
• Wicked: For Good: (Nov. 21-TBD): Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return as Elphaba and Glinda in part two of director Jon Chu’s cinematic adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical. For Good will feature two new songs written by original Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz.
• Zootopia 2: (Nov. 26-TBD): The dynamic detective duo of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde return for the long-awaited sequel to Disney’s 2016 animated adventure. A new case takes Judy and Nick to unexpected areas of Zootopia, and their growing partnership is tested like never before.
