The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center is greeting October with a film festival tailor-made for spooky season.
The Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival’s Thriller Picture Show will soon return to The Lindsay for the third consecutive year. Presented by Image 987 Productions and What Sleeps Beneath, this annual event offers audiences a wide variety of features and short films from around the world.
The 2025 Thriller Picture Show will take place from Oct. 2-5 and also include a Dark Date Night on Thursday, Oct. 9. Tickets are currently on sale for each feature screening and short film block.
This year’s headliner is Queens of the Dead on Friday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. The new horror-comedy was directed and co-written by veteran filmmaker Tina Romero, daughter of late Night of the Living Dead auteur George Romero and vice president of the George A. Romero Foundation.
Other notable Thriller Picture Show features include:
• Grind, McKeesport-based filmmaker Mark Cantu’s horror-thriller about a cursed grindhouse film, on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m.
• Hitman: The Slaughter, a crime-thriller and 24-year-old Ohioan Seth Nardo’s directorial debut, on Friday, Oct. 3, at 12:40 p.m.
• The School Duel, a Hunger Games-esque thriller co-starring The Office’s Oscar Nunez, on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1:40 p.m.
• Demons, a 40th-anniversary screening of director Lamberto Bava’s Italian classic that was also produced by famed horror master Dario Argento, on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m.
• International features Spelonk (South Africa) on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m.; and Uh ... I’m Sorry, Please Forgive Me (Canada) on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 4:55 p.m.
• Influencers, the pulse-pounding sequel to writer-director Kurtis David Harder’s 2022 psychological thriller Influencer, on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 8:15 p.m.
• Under My Skin, a supernatural horror-drama about two brothers being haunted while cleaning out their childhood home, on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.
Filmgoers can purchase All Festival Passes (including Dark Date Night access) for $35, Single Day Passes for $15 or individual feature/short block tickets for $11. Queens of the Dead and Demons are not included in either the All Festival Pass or Single Day Passes.
