Welcome! Founded by my parents in 1983, The Montessori Center continues to be dedicated to helping each child develop in a loving, secure, and academically outstanding environment. I'm honored to be part of a team which appreciates and affirms every child's unique spirit, and values strong partnership with parents.
The internationally acclaimed Montessori method is now over 100 years old. Each child's work is truly to play - in new ways to explore, and in old ways to reassure. Our low student-teacher ratio allows our staff to always be ready to support, to teach, to comfort, to guide, to challenge, and to love. Our children are given relaxed time and consistent opportunity to be what they are - loving, growing, and learning.
Located in the historic Hyde Park District of central Austin, TMC is close to the University of Texas and convenient to downtown. We serve 60 children ages 2 - 6, following the Austin Independent School Districts' calendar with slight alterations.
The Montessori Center is proud to be affiliated with the American Montessori Society, and to uphold the highest standards in the early childhood education field.
